Lower Back Pain and Sciatica

If you’ve been noticing pain in your lower back that extends from your hip down to the back of your leg, you may be experiencing a condition called Sciatica. The pain can vary from a dull ache to pins and needles to sharp electric shock like pains. Notice burning, tingling sensations or numbness as well? These are the added perks of Sciatica.

Sciatica is generally caused by a pinched nerve but things like having a bulging disc, misalignment of the spine, pregnancy and childbirth, constipation or something simple like sitting on your wallet in your back pocket can increase your chances but at the bare minimum will cause unnecessary lower back pains.

At Primary Care Chiropractic, Dr Peter Chee performs a full assessment to locate the source of the pain and the surrounding areas. If you’ve been experiencing lower back pains, dull aches, pins and needles or any type of numbness in your back or legs, book your consultation with Dr Chee here.

Shoulder and Elbow Pains

If simple tasks like lifting your arm, putting on a shirt or brushing your teeth causes you some sort of pain you could be experiencing pain in your shoulder or elbow. These pains are likely caused by repetitive movement like swinging at a tennis ball or golf club, sitting at a computer typing all day or picking and packing in a warehouse for work. Whatever the task is, it’s the wear and tear of your body and can cause mild to chronic pain over time.

If you think back to when you first started noticing any type of pain, it probably would have started off small, you know, like a small ache or irritation that you pushed through, until you started noticing it more which meant Dencorub or Deep Heat Cream or heat pads to alleviate the pain because life just gets in the way. As time passes, you’ve put it down to the wear and tear of your aging body and the affects of working 40, 50, 60 hour weeks and looking after your family.

Of course, it’s always best to seek treatment when you start noticing any pain for the best possible outcome of a full successful recovery. But, for the record, you don’t have to live with the pain and it’s never too late to seek treatment because at Primary Care Chiropractic, Dr Peter Chee’s number one goal is to help you bring some normalcy back into your life. Arthritis Management

If you have Arthritis, you will know that Arthritis is the swelling of one or more joints. Swelling of the joints can cause pain, stiffness and discomfort and in some people, this can affect your ability to do certain day to day activities like bending over to pick up the newspaper from the driveway or crouching down and getting back up. We know all too well that Arthritis can affect us at any age and is not limited to just the ‘elderly’.

Dr Peter Chee understands that in order to help you in your arthritic management, it is necessary to treat the surrounding areas before treating the actual area that is causing the pain. Dr Chee understands that Arthritic treatment and management is important to help give you back your way of life so you can move about doing your everyday activities with more comfort and less pain.

If this sounds like you and you want to keep enjoying doing what you love doing, get in touch with Dr Peter Chee here.

Neck and Upper Back pain

Neck and upper back pains are as common as waking up for your morning coffee and if you’re sitting all day in your 9-5 job without paying attention to the way you sit or you’re constantly turning your head to look over your shoulder, it’s likely that you’ve experienced some type of neck or upper back pain.

These are the typical pains that you get and shrug off or tell yourself that ‘I’ll get better when I lie down’. It’s the pain that gets better with a little massage or a little rub but it’s that niggling pain that just never really goes away. If you’re like the majority of people, you’re probably thinking that it’s just a muscle problem like an ache you get after doing three sets of 50 push ups. Sometimes it’s a muscle issue but in most scenarios, it can be more serious.

At Primary Care Chiropractic, Dr Peter Chee’s core belief of understanding the root cause before making a diagnosis is paramount to proper management of neck and upper back pains.

If you’ve been experiencing neck and or upper back pains, tried the ‘it’ll get better when I lie down’ technique or tried massaging it yourself with little improvement, click here and book your one on one consultation with Dr Peter Chee for a full assessment, management and tips and tools that you can implement at home and at work.

Hip and Knee Pains

Our hips and knees are used in almost all types of movement and can affect the way we go about everyday tasks if we’re in pain. Did you know that any pain that you experience in the hip may not be limited to just the hip itself but can affect areas above and below the hip line like the spine, the groin, upper thigh, buttocks area all the way down to the knees.

You’ll find that any pain in the hip or knee doesn’t discriminate. If there’s repetitive movement in these areas, chances are that you have experienced some type of pain. Those of you who are professional athletes, working warriors, super mums or have just been doing it for way too long, we’re here to help you get back to feeling yourself again.

At Primary Care Chiropractic, Dr Peter Chee works with you to find the root cause and then explores other areas that can be affected. The aim is to help reduce inflammation, improve movement and restore function in the affected areas.

If this sounds all too familiar and you’ve been experiencing these sorts of pains, get in touch here to book your session with Dr Peter Chee.

Postural Correction

Having poor posture can be as simple as doing a certain activity or task on repeat. Things like sitting on an office chair all day, turning your head to look over your shoulder or constantly holding a child on a particular side of your body to keep your other hand free can cause poor posture. If you know someone who keeps their wallets in your back pocket and doesn’t remove it when they hop into the car to drive, you wouldn’t believe it but you’d be creating bad habits of poor posture too!

Did you know having poor posture can have a detrimental effect on other parts of your body like your neck, shoulders, upper and lower back, your spine and even cause headaches?

At Primary Care Chiropractic, Dr Peter Chee’s goal is to perform a full assessment of your posture based on your concerns and treat through postural correction.

If you have been experiencing pain or stiffness in parts of your neck, shoulders, back or spine or have noticed recurrent headaches, click here to book in your one on one consultation with Dr Peter Chee.

Tension Headache and Migraines

Are you a silently loud sufferer of headaches and migraines? Do your headaches and migraines cause you to curl up into the fetal position or your head feels like it’s being squeezed so tight? Does it make you feel sick to the stomach that you have to take time off work, leave a function early or miss important events because you’re just in so much pain?

Although painkillers like Panadol and Neurofen can give you short term relief, headaches and migraines can be a precursor for other issues like neck, shoulder and jaw pain, bad posture or pinched nerve/s.

At Primary Care Chiropractic, Dr Peter Chee understands that diagnosing the underlying cause of pain is always first priority and undercovering the triggers associated with tension headaches and migraines will help you on your journey to getting you back to experiencing normal days again.

If you’re tired of the disruptions of headaches and migraines affecting your life, get in touch here to book your one on one consultation with Dr Peter Chee.

Sports Related Injuries

Sports related injuries are not limited to injuries from ‘sport’. If you’re a working warrior or a super mum, you too can increase your chances of ‘sports related injuries’. These types of injuries are injuries that stem from the repetitive action of a certain activity. Whether you’re hitting the pavement and running 20km a day, sitting on an office chair doing your 9-5 job or constantly bending over to lift a baby or toddler out of a cot, the repetitive nature of these simple tasks can put significant strain on different parts of your body.

These are usually the pains that you have noticed but not really paid too much attention to because life just gets in the way. Dr Peter Chee’s extensive experience in repairing these types of injuries means that his aim and focus is to release tension and stretch the tissues in and around the muscles, get rid of pain and relax overacting or repeatedly overused muscles.

If this sounds like someone you know or even you, make sure you’re putting yourself first and book your one on one consultation with Dr Peter Chee here.

Pregnancy Related Pains

You wouldn’t have known if we didn’t tell you that caring for your body during pregnancy would be so important and necessary. Why? No one would think to mention it because these are the perks of being a ‘mother’. With a growing baby or babies, pressure mounts both internally and externally and if this is your second, third, or ‘n’th pregnancy, looking after your body is paramount.

Remember that time that you could sleep on your back without any pain? Or now that you’re getting bigger you are forced to sleep on your left side?  Or getting in and out of the bed for the multiple trips to the bathroom each night?

At Primary Care Chiropractic, Dr Peter Chee focuses on the growing pains caused by your growing baby by alleviating the pressure in your pelvis and spine. Not only will Dr Chee give you relief at your one on one consultation, he will also show you techniques that you can work on at home to help support you on your pregnancy journey.
